How to Get Rid of Google Instant & Revert Back to Old Google Search?

Google Instant, a new feature from the Top Search Engine Google looks promising but somehow people may dislike it for various reasons. And hence Google has provided the option to easily disable the Instant feature if you're not interested.

How to Disable/Deactivate Google Instant Search & Get Back to Old Google Search?

  • Open Google.Com
  • On the top right corner, you'll find a wheel symbol. Clicking on it will display a drop-down menu.
  • Next, click on "search settings" (or) you can directly go to Google.com/Preferences
  • In the next step, find the option that says "Never Show Instant Results" and check the option.

  • Now, go to the bottom of the page and click on "Save preferences".

That's it! You'll now be redirected to Use Old Google Search where you've to press Enter like you did earlier.

Remember that to Turn-On the Google Instant Feature, simply follow the options above but vice-versa.

  2. You left out how to turn off the "best matches" window that pops up. It's actually called Quick Scroll.
On the Google Toolbar you will see a wrench icon, click on the wrench icon, click on the Tools panel, uncheck Quick Scroll.

I hate Google Instant. They really should look into leting users go back to the search engine and have the preference remembered. I hate having to constantly turn it off.
