Celebrating 5 Years of Successful Blogging Career

Blogging Since 5 YearsHi all, I am very happy that i have completed my 5th year of Blogging (Blogger and Wordpress Platforms) successfully today. There were many times when I felt very happy and sometimes unhappy in this blogging career. Today, I would like to share with you how my blogging career started and how it led to grab a job of my interest.

2006: Like everyone else, I've started my blogging with Blogger.Com (as it was easy for beginners) in the year 2006 with a free blogger blog when I was pursuing my Bachelor of Computers. I don't know how to blog or how to bring traffic or other stuff like search engines (blah blah) in those days :( I used to post different things about downloading softwares and other mp3 stuff...and then asked my friends to visit my blog by forwarding the URL. Later when I am pursuing my Masters in Computer Science, I got the insights of blogging and SEO and how it will help you to bring traffic to your site and thus earn some pocket-money. I then tried to monetize my blog with Google Adsense which is the best advertising program that I have used. Of-course there are a lot of other Google Adsense Alternatives, but i was most satisfied with Adsense.Com.

2007: I received my first Adsense Income of $100 after 5 sleepless months (as i used to blog @ night times as I need to go to the college in the morning). It was then when i decided to blog more seriously. And then i got $120 :) the very next month which gave me more hope for considering blogging. From then onwards, I used to get monthly income from Adsense >$100 and <$300. Of-course, excluding all my expenses (Internet Bill, Current Bill, Hosting etc..), I used to get 5000 INR in my hand.

2008: The same interest lead me to take the career of Online Marketing (Search Engine Optimization, Content Writing) when I finished my masters which is definitely the best part of my life :). After I joined the field, I got a chance to work with different websites (multiple niches) which helped me to improve my SEO Skills of driving traffic to a website.

2009-10: Later when I applied the same to one of my website (Entertainment niche), the results were awesome. The traffic for that site increased :) from 300 visits/day to 2500 visitors/day and presently it is getting 18000 visits/day. This enormous change inspired me a lot to learn more insights of SEO by referring many top SEO websites like SEOmoz, Sphinn, Webmaster Blog etc..

And then to my sudden surprise, my Adsense Ads that i displayed in the Entertainment website got disappeared :( due to some privacy problems and my Adsense earnings went down to almost $50/month. But, my adsense account stayed active :) as I've also used the same account to monetize my other technology blogs (TechZene). It was then when I skipped advertisements in all my other entertainment blogs that are related to copyrights and started concentrating on Tech Blogs as the Techy blogs always pay high rather than an entertainment niche because the advertisers will have less interest in ET blogs. It was almost a year I started this blog and it was a huge hit both in terms of traffic as well as user satisfaction. Now, I am making an income that is equal to my day job from all my blogs which I think is a pretty decent amount..

Thanks to all for making my blogging career a big HIT..

There is still a LOT to learn in blogging (as it is an Ocean).............

Happy Blogging :)
