The Telecom Department (DoT) has recently issued a note to all the private telecom operators in India not to launch 3G Video Calling Services on their network. This made Tata Docomo to recall its 3G Video Calling Service. This service is also not available with Reliance 3G Services and Airtel. However, state-owned telecom operators BSNL and MTNL are already providing Video Calling Service for long.
Reason: The hold on Video Calling Feature is due to the concerns raised by security agencies over the options to intercept and monitor these calls and messages.
Hope, DoT will resolve this issue in future with more operators entering the 3G spectrum.
