Google Android Phone, though attractive, is a bit costlier than the rest of the android mobile phones which now has become a great business point for the low cost mobile phone manufacturers. Now they are exploring Android's potential with the launch of Android powered handsets with great features at low cost thus competing with high end models.
One such recently launched mobile is the Micromax Android 60 which runs on Android 2.1 Eclair powered with 600MHz microprocessor with support for GSM & CDMA having a 2.8" resistive full touch screen, 3.2MP camera, other feature include GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, FM radio and a internal memory of 150 MB but supports micro SD card upto 32 GB.

ReplyDeleteThe A60 has a 2.8-inch resistive touch screen with 320×240 pixel resolution. The Samsung Galaxy 5 (I5503) has similar specs, but has responsive capacitive touch screen. I would suggest that one go in for this over the A60. However the I5503 is not a dual SIM phone.
ReplyDeleteCall clarity is good. I use it quite a bit for browsing (via EDGE/GPRS) using the pre-installed browser and Opera Mini 5.1 (which I downloaded and installed). With 3/4 hours of browsing the battery lasts just a day, otherwise one day more. I also use it daily to check/send mail from my Gmail accounts.
Two glaring negatives of the Galaxy 5:
1) the 2MP camera (w/o autofocus or flash) might as well have not been there
2) in bright sunlight the screen is dark and unreadable.
The Galaxy 5 looks very similar to the Samsung Corby handset. I purchased it in Mumbai for Rs. 8,500 (early Nov. '10) and am quite satisfied with the handset.
When I bought this phone from mnvcollections.com I did find the shape a little unusual. But I like the 3.2 MP camera. and what is best is that this is the cheapest Android phone in the Indian market. I strongly recommend it.
