Change the Default DOS Background Color without Using Commands

DOS Command prompt, though we're not using it these days, some people still use it for customizing. It's a CUI based interface with black background (which isn't changed for many years now). Now let us see "how to change the DOS Command Prompt's background color?".

  1. Launch Command prompt by typing "cmd" in the Run command prompt (Windows+Run).

  2. A CUI interface will open. Right click on the title bar and then choose "Properties"
    Dos Command Prompt Properties

  3. In the properties window, Go to "Colors" tab and then choose "Screen Background"
    Dos Color Properties

  4. Notice the colors given below the options and select the color that you'd like to set as your Command prompt's background color.

  5. Click OK and see the changed effects.
You can even do this using commands
type in "color 14" as a command (without quotes) to set "blue" as your DOS background color.
But, it's difficult to remember all the color codes. Instead change it in GUI like said above.
