Google is celebrating the 8th birthday of their most popular online advertising program, Google Adsense today. 8 years back on the same day i.e., June 18, 2003, Google introduced the Google Adsense program that allows website publishers to earn money by serving ads on their web pages.
Publishers can apply for Adsense accounts online and once approved, they can have instant access to Google's network of search advertisers.
Though the majority of Publishers earn only a few bucks from Adsense (enough to pay their utility bills), there's also a few website owners who earn thousands of dollars just by sitting infront of their personal computer. {see why the differences in adsense revenue}
I've been using Google Adsense since 2007 and there is a huge improvement in the program in all these years. A lot of additional features have been added (Feedburner ads, Rich-media ads, Google Affiliate Network etc..). However, a few features have also been removed from the program (Video ads).
And recently, Adsense Interface have been revamped giving it a fresh look with additional features. However, there are a few issues.
- No proper way to get Support (except a Google forum where we can't reveal everything)
- No EFT facility in India and few other countries
Once again, Wishing Adsense a Very Happy Birthday :) Love You :)
