ShowDocument allows Web Meeting and Document Sharing (Free)

There are a few situations where we need to complete a project or create a presentation with our friends. There will be no problem if we and our friends are nearer. But, what if they're far away from us? This little thought made HBR labs to create a platform where anyone can organize online collaborations with friends or perform web meetings, review documents from any location.

ShowDocument is an useful web application which allows people to create and upload documents (PPTs, DOCs, Exel, PDFs), and also share those with other friends who can work on the same from their computer at the same time.

Once you uploaded your documents, they'll be shown in a flash supported editor where everyone (who've been invited) can edit the document at a time. You can see the cursor of all with the name of the person below it. This helps you identify the person that is making the changes.

The website also provides chat facility (Voice, Video and Text chat) which helps you give any ideas or correct your friends if they're doing it wrong.

Steps to set up a Web Meeting at ShowDocument

  • Register an account with ShowDocument (either Free or Premium)
  • Upload a file (you'll receive a code)
  • Send the verification code to your friends and ask them to visit the site and enter the code or you can instead send them the direct link to invite through email or chat.
  • That's it! Once they received and accepted your invitation, you can work together online.
Remember that the free sing-up only allows 3 members to participate in the web meeting while the paid signup ($29.99/month) allows unlimited members and also has several options.
