Youtube, no doubt has become an irreplaceable online library for videos. With the rising popularity of Youtube, many people are developing different tools that help to edit, crop, convert, download and optimize the Youtube videos with very few clicks. Out of several hundred of such tools, I'd like to showcase a few useful tools that were regularly used by many (including me).
- ListentoYoutube: It helps to convert Youtube Videos to Mp3 audio file.
- YtDub: An online resource to dub one youtube video with another video. You can also use this tool to replace background of an existing video with another.
- You3B: Lets you watch 3 different Youtube videos at the same time on a single webpage.
- YoutubeTime: If you like to send a video to your friend and want him to watch it from a specific time frame, then this tool will come handy for you. Just choose the start time of the actual Youtube video and an URL is automatically generated for you. Clicking on that URL will let you watch the video straight from the time you specified without having to watch it from the beginning.
- SaveVid: A pretty useful and also my favorite to download any Youtube video to your computer in different formats (low, medium and high definition)
- YtPodCaster: Would you like to convert Youtube videos to Video podcasts? This tool will come handy. It lets you convert Youtub videos to Mp4 format so that you can access those from your iPods, Zune and several other mobile devices.
- SubYo: Find out existing subtitles or add your own sub-titles for any Youtube video using this tool.
- VideoAlerts: If you like to get notified when a new video on your favorite topic is uploaded on Youtbe, then subscribing to Video-Alerts will help you.
- TubePopper: Similar to BubblePly. Lets you add word balloons, comments or subtitles to any video and then embed it on any site.
- TubeSpy: Find out what people are watching right now on Youtube.
- YouTomb: A simple, yet powerful tool develop by MIT students which tells you when a particular video was taken and how long it had been active for, before it have been taken down from Yotube for alleged copytight violations.
- VTubeTools: A pretty useful tool that allow you build a new player according to your taste. You just need to add the video ID number and choose the setting such as loop, skin, HQ etc... You can then embed the player in your site.
- BubblePly: A fun tool that lets you add a layer of bubbles on Youtube videos without actually disturbing the content. You can then add comments or thoughts on these bubbles. A real handy tool for video editors.
- GeoBestofYoutube: Find out the most popular Youtube videos in different geographical locations. Just select a location on the Map and you'll be provided by the list of most viewed videos on Youtube in that location.
- AlarmTube: As the name implies, it's an alarm service which wakes you up by playing your favorite Youtube video. Of-course, you need to set it up before it actually works.
- MixMasterTube: It's a different tool that lets you mix music videos, create playlists and play Youtube videos. You can also share the mixed videos with your friends.
- ViralVideoChart: It's somewhat similar to Google Trends. This tool helps you to find out what videos are going viral and how are they trending.
- TubeMogul: It's an analytic tool for Youtube. This tool allows you to track visits to your uploaded videos. Simply input your Youtube profile name and it will be tracked. You can even schedule analytics reports via email.
