How to Permanently Close Your PayPal Account?

Now-a-days, PayPal India is imposing several guidelines on its users in India, thus making them pretty angry. However, if you’re one of those users who got tired of these limitations and wanted to close your PayPal account for the same or the other reason, here is a step by step guide.

But, remember that PayPal is still one of the best services to receive/transfer money by freelancers.

How to Close a PayPal Account Permanently?

1. Login to your PayPal account
2. Go to My Profile > My Account Settings
3. Click on the link that says “Close Account” (remember that your account balance must be ‘0’)
   


4. A warning message will be displayed saying “closing your account is final and both your account history and reputation number will be lost”. (Remember to download & print all PayPal transactions in case you need them again in future)
   
5. Click on “Continue” button. You’ll be asked to state the reason for closing your PayPal account in the next window. Choose the proper reason and click “Continue” again.
   
6. In the next window, click “Close Account”. This is your last step in the account closure procedure.
   
7. You’ll now be logged out of PayPal with a message stating that “You have successfully closed your account”.
